Baby Shower

I'm trying something new - I'm posting this from my iPhone. My husband and I just upgraded to the iPhone 4 and I can take better pictures now ( and video!) I didn't feel like setting up my photo tent and lights and thought I'd give this a try. We'll see what happens.

My cousin is having a baby in September and going to help with the shower. This is the invitation that I put together. I just got PTI's A Little Argyle set and I just love it! The sentiment is from TAC's Showers of Love set and the boat is from a baby set I got from Michael's called Bouncin' Baby Boy.

I think I finally found a white ink that works...PTI's Fresh Snow. Good white gel pens and white ink pads are hard to
come by. Well, I'm rambling now. Thanks for stopping by. I know my posts are few and far between here lately.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

     My brother and his wife are expecting their first child in November.  They just found out they are having a girl and I was excited to go out and buy them a little something.  Between my parents, sister, and I, we are going to send them a nice little package of girly, baby items.  How fun!  I haven't made any cards in awhile, so it was fun to sit down and make this baby girl card.

 

     This little bunny comes from TAC's Fresh Spring Things stamp set.  I've seen the ribbon ruffles, but had not tried one until now.  I was in a hurry, so I used needle and thread to tack down each little ruffle.  I think the ruffle adds a fun little touch to the card. 

     Before I go, I will share a couple pictures of my baby girl, Lily.  She is now 9 months old and is just so much fun!  It's going to be hard to go back to school at the end of summer.  I'm going to miss all this extra play time.

     This next stamp set is called Picnic Time - lots of fun possibilities!!!  I had fun making the trail of ants.  :)

Black and White

     I have time for a quick post today.  I've been wanting to use this black and white patterned paper for quite awhile now.  I always find it hard to make that first cut into a piece of new paper.  :)  This paper is from S.E.I.'s  Black Orchid paper pad.  All four of these cards start with a white base and then are layered with a piece of black card stock.  My sentiments are from TAC and PTI.

CDS Sneak Peek Day 2

     Today is day 2 of the Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks - welcome back!  I get to share a fun mushroom card with you today.  The name of this set is Mushroom Whimsy and it has a lot of great images in it.  Check out the big mushroom on this card - isn't it cool?  There are endless ways that you could color it, but I chose to do some monochromatic coloring with my Copic markers.  The card base needed a little something more, so I used VersaMark and the small mushroom to create a watermark background. 

     Did you know that CDS carries coordinating cardstock, ribbon and markers?  Be sure to check out their store to see everything that they carry.  I used their Turquoise Gem and Wild Ginger card stock for this card.  Love those fun names!

CDS Sneak Peek Day 1

     Today is day 1 of Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks for their June stamp releases!  I get to share two cards with you today.  Be sure to check out the CDS blog and I'll also add links to the end of my post so you can check out other sneak peeks by other CDS DT members.

     This first card uses a set called Pansy Bunny.  What a cute little bunny, huh?  I had fun using my Copic markers on this image.  I used C3 cool gray no. 3 and went around the edges of the bunny.  Then I used the colorless blender to fade out the gray a bit. 

     This next card uses the June Stamp of the month - A Tweet Hello.  I love these little birds!  One of my favorite sized cards to make is a 3x3, so that's what I chose for this card.  I stamped a bird house on white card stock and then colored it with Copic markers.  I stamped and colored two individual birds on white card stock, cut them out, and then used pop dots to apply them to the card.  It's fun to find ways to add dimension to a card.
