Our little Lily is 2 1/2 months old now and is growing and changing right before our eyes! She does a lot of cooing and is starting to make cute little spit bubbles. (they are cute right now, anyway!) She just noticed that she has hands and loves to stare at them. Here a few pictures for you.
My quilt guild is having a craft sale this Saturday and I decided to make a table runner to sell. This runner is fairly small. It is about 25 inches long and 9 inches wide. I'm all about straight lines and symmetry when I'm making cards and that tends to mess me up a bit when I'm working on a quilt project. For this runner I sewed 5 different strips of fabric together, cut it into a 9 inch block and then cut the block into four triangles. I made four, 9 inch blocks and then cut them to get 16 triangles. Then the fun begins - you get to mix and move them around until you get the design you like. I thought my design was going to 'line' up pretty nice and then remembered I had to figure in the 1/4" seam allowance...so that is why some of the fabrics are not lined up exactly in the design. I plan to make another runner with these same fabrics and I hope to be more random with the design. :)
Lily is one month old today (on her daddy's birthday!) and she's now weights 10 lbs. 8 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. She's really growing!! Here are a few pictures to share with you.

Our friend, Tim, made this awesome changing table for Lily's room. He is so talented! It has made 'changing time' much easier. It's a lot easier on my poor back. Can you handle some more pictures of Lily? :) I hope to have some 'crafty' things to post soon, but for now I'll leave with you with a couple more pictures of little Lily.

Snuggling with a bear
One of my favorite pictures from the hospital. I don't think we could fit any more people in the room. And don't forget about me! I'm in the picture, too...see the feet on the right? :) This picture was taken several hours before things got to really going. Everyone had fun watching the baby's heartbeat and my contractions on the monitor.
I just love this picture of Chris and Lily. I call this picture- 'Multitasking'. (something we're going to have to get good at!) As some of you know, Chris is an avid World of Warcraft player and he has a couple of blogs that he posts on. I just had to share his most recent post over at 4thehorde. He documented the birth of our daughter in 'gamer' terms. You'll have to check it out - just click the link below:
Lily Jean arrived on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 3:12am. She weighs 8 lbs. 14oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long and has beautiful dark hair. Chris and I can't believe that she is finally here. We are so blessed and are enjoying each and every moment with her.
Just six more days until my due date...the doctor thinks I'll go past...but I'm really hoping he's wrong. I wanted to share a couple of photos of the shower that my kindergarten class had for me. One of the mom's put it together and it was so nice. A lot of the kids had never heard of a 'baby shower', so it was a fun experience for all of us.
So, baby Lily will be here in less than 7 weeks...how crazy is that?! School has started back up and my 16 kindergartners are keeping me busy and helping the time pass quickly. :) I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I just thought I'd drop in real quick to say hello and to also post a couple pictures of some baby items for Lily.
These cute little hats were given to me by my sister-in-law, Nikki.
I found these at Wal-Mart for $2. What a bargain and they are so cute!
